Black Pinstripe French Mani #NOTD

I picked up a bottle of Essie’s Chinchilly last weekend and I’m totally, madly in love with it. I have a hard time finding neutrals that don’t make my hands look dead so I was thrilled to discover that I like it just as much on my nails as on the bottle.

I very nearly had formula let-down but it pulled through. At first it looked like it was going to do the thing I hate about most cremes, which is layer unevenly without self-leveling. But lo and behold on the second coat it slowly self-leveled before my eyes. I would call this a A++ lacquer for both color and application.

I originally planned on going with a matte finish but boy howdy do I love it with a glossy shine. Next time I’ll do matte. Next time.

The tips were done in China Glaze’s Liquid Leather, my go-to black. Try not to be grossed out by the cut on my finger. I had a run-in with the serrated edge on a roll of aluminum foil. Yowch.
