Taking Stock: The Pink Drawer

I own around 700 nail polishes, excluding base and top coats. Every now and then I like to go through them and organize, which also gives me a chance to shake them and add thinner to any that have evaporated a bit. First up is the pink drawer.

I’m not a huge fan of pinks, unless they’re super saturated Barbie pinks or eye searing hot magentas. There are 53 pinks in this drawer, and I grouped them in vaguely defined color families below.

The blush shades (top L to bottom R): Sally Hansen Sugar Coat “Pink Sparkle”, China Glaze “Infra Red”, OPI “Embarca-dare Ya”, Zoya “Blaze”, Zoya “Vanessa”, Nails Inc “Piccadilly Circus.”

The hot magnetas (top left to bottom right): Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear “Hot Magenta”, Zoya “Alegra”, Sally Hansen Sugar Coat “Red Velvet”, Wet n Wild “Frosted Fuchsia.”

The Barbie pinks (top left to bottom right): China Glaze “Seas the Day”, Julie G “Oh Em Gee”, OPI “Hey Baby”, China Glaze “Strawberry Fields”, Orly “Oh Cabana Boy”, Finger Paints “Flip Flop Fuchsia”, Sinful Colors “Oasis”, Butter London “Disco Biscuit.”

The magical pony pinks… I don’t know, I’m just naming these on a whim.  (Top L to bottom R): Sinful Colors “Fusion Neon”, Sephora by OPI “Techno Girl”, Spoiled “I Gotta Confection to Make”, Cinapro Nail Sugar “Cotton Candy.”

The salmonish-coralish pinks (top L to bottom R): Sally Hansen Lustre Shine “Lava”, Sally Hansen HD “LCD”, OPI “Suzi’s Hungary Again”, China Glaze Texture “Bump & Grind.”

The pretty princess pinks (top L to bottom R): Essie “Limo-Scene”, Sinful Colors “Easy Going”, Rimmel “French Rose”, Julep “Clara”, OPI “Aphrodite’s Pink Nightie:, Sinful Colors “Flutter”, Milani “A Rose Mylady.”

The muted pinks: Rimmel “English Rose”, Essie “Angora Cardi”, OPI “Baby Please Come Home.”

The duochromes (top L to bottom R): ILNP “Electric Carnival”, Dance Legend “Roz”, Finger Paints “Surreal Sunset”, Hard Candy “Crush on Lava”, China Glaze “Awakening.”

The purply pinks (top L to bottom R): Orly “Explosion of Fun”, Zoya “Arlo”, Zoya “Harlow”, China Glaze “Flying Dragon”, ILNP “Metropolis”, Butter London “Disco Biscuits.”
